To begin the cabbage soup you of course need the most important thing, cabbage soup. This fast way to lose weight does not require that you eat nothing but cabbage soup, but does recommend that you eat as much cabbage soup that you can handle. Cabbage soup is high in both fiber and water, which helps to clean out your system and helps you lose water weight, if you don’t continue to drink a lot of water you will gain all the water weight, and maybe more, as soon as you stop this diet.

This is one of the fast ways to lose weight that is a strict diet. Make sure that you have at least three servings of cabbage soup a day. For the first day you can have all the fruit you want except bananas. For day two you can have all the vegetables you want, and one baked potato with butter. For day three you can have all of the fruit and vegetables you want but no potato or bananas. For day four you are allowed to have 8 bananas and skim milk. During day five you are allowed between 10 and 20 ounces of meat including beef, skinless chicken and broiled fish, 10 glasses of water and 6 fresh tomatoes. For day six avoid the baked potato, but you can eat anything you’ve had for the past few days. And it all ends with day seven. You can have unsweetened fruit juice, brown rice, and veggies and at least one bowl of cabbage soup.

The cabbage soup diet used as a fast way to lose weight is a short term diet that should last no longer that one week for health reasons.

Losing Weight Dieting

A lot of us want to lose weight but don’t know how to go about things. What and how much we eat is an important question here. Yet many of us resort to dieting without thinking of the consequences. What we need to realise is that just losing those kilos is not what matters, but losing it the healthy way, is of utmost importance.

No Short-Cuts
Weight management is a long-term process and there are no instant remedies. You cannot pop a pill or starve yourself for a few days and expect to be slim forever. Losing weight is just the beginning- maintaining the desired weight is the real task. For that, you need to incorporate lifestyle-related changes and adopt strategies that can be followed for life. It is important to set realistic targets. You may not lose 30 kilos in a month, and even if you do, you are likely to gain it back just as quickly.

Do it Right
Set small targets and stick to them. Reduce the size of your meal helpings, cut down on the sugar in your tea/ coffee or skip that coke you like to have with dinner. Gradually you will find it easier to resist temptation and switch to healthier food. Also try eating a number of small snacks throughout the day instead of three big meals. Studies have shown that eating less more often helps lose weight. Another very important but easy thing to do is to stop eating once you are full. Eat only to fill your tummy, not when you are stressed, bored or lonely.

Of course you must incorporate the age old facts- quit junk food, exercise enough, eat fruits and vegetables and stay away from too much alcohol (especially beer).
